Top Employers for Working Families
The Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark and Awards, founded by Working Families in partnership with the Institute for Employment Studies, recognise employers who support parents, carers and flexible workers with work-life balance and career development. Entrants complete a unique benchmark survey which examines flexible working policies and practices and can opt to enter one or more of the Special Awards. This year saw the introduction of a new SME-specific benchmark giving small and medium sized enterprises the opportunity to measure and evaluate their current policies and to discover the business benefits of adopting family friendly working.

Top Employers for Working Families Benchmark and Awards 2013
The final winners of the Special Awards and the A-Z list of Top Employers for Working Families sponsored by Computershare Voucher Services and the Top Family Friendly SME List sponsored by Childcarescheme.com will be announced on 24th September at the launch event for National Work-Life Week. The A-Z lists of Top Employers are compiled by taking the entrants with the best benchmark score.
The Top Employers for Working Families list and the Top Family Friendly Small Businesses list were compiled according to the benchmark survey scores.
The final winners of each Special Award category were judged anonymously by the following panel: Sarah Jackson, CEO, Working Families; Professor Cary L. Cooper, Pro Vice Chancellor of Lancaster University and Professor of Organisational Psychology and Health; Mary Mercer, Principal Consultant, IES; Valerie Stevenson Chartered FCIPD and former senior HR Director; Jonathan Swan, Head of Research, Working Families. The judging process is anonymous – the judges are not given the entrants’ names when judging the Special Award entries.
