Attendance Allowance

Attendance Allowance (AA) is a benefit for people aged 65 or over who need help with personal care. You cannot get AA if you only have problems getting around, and do not need help with personal care. It does not matter whether you actually have a carer. AA can be paid at two rates, the lower rate and the higher rate.

There is more information about AA on Direct Gov.

As the AA claim form can seem quite complicated, it is a good idea to get help with completing it from, for example, a Citizens Advice Bureau.
