Released 3rd March, 2010|1,633 Views

Incapacity Benefit is a benefit for people who are ‘incapable of work’ because of a sickness or disability. You cannot make a new claim for Incapacity Benefit, but some people continue to get it. Employment and Support Allowance has replaced Incapacity Benefit for new claims.  If you are on Incapacity Benefit, you will stay on it for the time being, but the government intend to move everyone onto Employment and Support Allowance eventually.

You will find more information about Incapacity Benefit on the Direct Gov  website.
