Changemakers Information

Changemakers are individuals like you who want to:

  • build a real momentum of change towards a family-friendly working culture

  • ensure the voice of working families is heard by today’s opinion-formers and policy-makers

  • network with other professionals facing similar challenges at work (optional)

Changemakers make an annual contribution to the Working Families Change Fund. Gold Changemakers give £1,000 a year, Silver £500 and Bronze £250. And many aim to do something each year, either big or small, to improve the lives of working families (for ideas, click here)

All Changemakers are invited to receptions throughout the year, and kept up to date with key developments affecting working families. Gold Changemakers are invited to meet Government ministers, policy makers and leading-edge experts at smaller events. Gold and Silver Changemakers are asked to the annual Working Families drinks party at the House of Lords.

Why others have become Changemakers

Photo of Nicola Ralston

"Working Families dares to think that our lives don’t have to be the way they’ve always been; they are engaged in the daunting task of working toward changing our legislation and our culture. At the same time, however, they are highly practical, providing advice and support every day to individuals who often have no-one else to turn to. This has inspired me to support Working Families, and I hope it will encourage you to do so too" Nicola Ralston, investment consultant and mother of three.

"I believe that work-life balance is one of the toughest challenges facing us in the 21st century. When I came across an organisation as efficient and effective as Working Families in pursuing that challenge, I was delighted to become one of its first Changemakers. Through consistent financial support, I am confident that – in some small way – I am contributing to changing the working world for the benefit of families, communities and businesses. I urge others to do the same"
Alexandra Marks, Solicitor, Recorder and mother of two.

"I became a Changemaker to help a pragmatic and successful charity work for a world in which my children will not have to face the same challenges as I did. Working Families is run by an impressive group of professionals who are helping to create the sort of working culture I want to succeed in. I enjoy being a Changemaker. The more people who sign up, the more powerful and effective we will become"
Kate Grussing, mother of four, previously COO for European Equities at J P Morgan, co-founder of Sapphire Partners, the executive search firm providing flexible senior female professionals.
