Volunteer Guide

We need your help with:
Routine administrative tasks including all or some of the following:

  • Opening and distributing the incoming post.
  • Entering details of post in daybook.
  • Sending out publications which have been ordered.
  • Responding to routine enquiries by sending out appropriate publications.
  • Processing membership applications.
  • Making up packs to for the above.
  • Photo-copying.
  • Answering the phone and passing calls to appropriate member of staff.
  • Franking the out going post.
  • Assisting staff with admin work as the need arises.
  • Other tasks according to Working Families needs and volunteer's abilities/interests.

You are:

  • Co-operative and have a flexible approach to your work
  • Methodical
  • Accurate
  • Well organised
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Able to speak, read and write English
  • Enthusiastic about Working Families goals and committed to our equal opportunities policy

Volunteering at Working Families would suit someone who wants office experience.

We ask for:

  • A regular commitment of at least six hours a week
  • Notification on any occasion you are unable to come

We offer:

  • Experience of a variety of admin office tasks
  • Travelling expenses (within the London area)
  • Lunch expenses up to £3.50
  • A reference

Working Families offices are wheelchair accessible and are a no smoking environment.
