Annual Conference 2018
23 May 2018 | 09.30 to 14.00 (registration from 09.00) | Kindly hosted by EY, 25 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London E14 5EY
Join us at our interactive and thought provoking 2018 Annual Conference: Moving the dial: it’s not just about fixing the women…
In this, the centenary year of women’s suffrage, there is still a lot of work to do to achieve a level playing field for women so we’ll be asking how employers are going to make a step change that leads to real results on gender equality. And we’ll be looking at the learning for employers from the results of the Modern Families Index research, which finds increasing evidence of a parenthood penalty, as fathers and mothers try to navigate flexible and family friendly policies within organisational cultures where traditional gender assumptions about who works and who cares are still present; nearly 1 in 5 mothers and fathers report having deliberately stalled their careers for family reasons.
Hear practical examples from experts and leading employers
The conference will include two interactive panel discussions and a speed networking session.
Panel discussion one: Moving the dial on gender equality with Q&A
Discussion will be on the impact of parental status on gender pay gap figures/position; how to move the dial in terms of women’s career progression; the impact of gender pay gap reporting on the development and implications of flexible working and family friendly policies; pay equity; and considering the impact of parental responsibility on the differing roles done by men and women at work?
Panel discussion two: Modern Families Index 2018 with Q&A
Working Families’ Head of Research will outline findings from the study, and what they mean for you in terms of the challenges to achieving gender equality in your workplace. The panel will give their perspective on the findings and suggest how some of these challenges might be overcome.
Programme updates and speaker information will be available here as and when we confirm further details.
Attending this inspiring event will give you best practice examples, access to the latest thinking and solutions to key challenges to take back to your workplace.
